Nail Polish Strips

The best things ever created!  I'm absolutely horrible at doing my own manicures.  I always smudge my nails first things first.  Even after I try so hard to not hit anything and just sit completely still (I normally do my nails while watching a movie) I always end up smudging them. I also can't help but check if they're dry and I always get my fingerprints on them.  Not only that, but 9/10 I do my nails before bed and when I wake up in the morning they're chipped and smudged.  You'd think I'd learn, but no.  So this new product is really my new best friend.  

Second and Third

So I made a second and third batch of macarons.  The second batch browned.  The oven was too hot, which is depressing, but they still taste good!  They're vanilla flavored and blue, with again, nutella filling.

Memoboards (Inc.)

It's incomplete for now, but I started my memo board!  I chose a pink damask fabric, super cute and covered my old bulletin board.  I put two layers of batting down to give it some cushion and stretched the fabric around it and stapled into place.

First Attempt

So my first attempt at making macarons didn't work out so well.  I got everything sifted and beat the egg whites until they were all foamy and then added in the sugar but as soon as the sugar went in it went pfft from there.  Instead of getting peaks I got soup!

Today I feel full of creativity!

On top of making my memo board today, I want to make macarons.  I found a cute recipe online (search google, there are tons of them!)

I plan to make them a pale pink with a nutella filling.  Probably vanilla flavored for now, unless I can find a rose extract at the grocery store in which case, they'll be rose with a hazelnut filling.  So delicious.  I can't wait to do them!

Memo boards

I've decided that I'm going to make a memo board.  I'm sure you know what they are. You know, ribbons, and fabric, on a board, that hold photos and various other accessories.

I remember seeing this adorable gingham fabric at the fabric store the other day, and I'm sure it will make the cutest memo board!  I also have a bulletin board that I haven't been using so what better way than to cover it in pink with baby pink ribbons and white brads or buttons.

It'll match my room! and I can use it.  I plan to do it tomorrow!  I'm excited.

Shelves

So my space is almost complete.  I just had my shelves put up, and that's really the reason for this post today, I don't really have much else to write for now.

My space is almost complete, like I said before and it feels good, and I think it looks good.  The only thing that I want to get to complete it is one of those pink ribbon photoboards.  I want to put it in the middle under my highest shelf.

New case

So I decided to try this tutorial.

I'm sure if I tried a little harder, it would look awesome, but I just made one super basic, black fur with a white suede lining.  It works for me, to hold my ipod, and after I get the hang of it, maybe I'll see about different fabrics and colors and whatnot.  I think I might eventually put a brightly colored button to break up the black and white, but for now, I like it the way it is.

New Project(s)!

So, two posts in one day.  I got the materials today for my new project, so tomorrow, after we clean out the garage and go buy my shelves, I'm going to start them!

I've decided I'm going to make cute mini-bloomers, using this tutorial.  I decided to use a lightweight cotton instead of a silk or a chiffon.  Also, if this first one works out, I'm going to make another pair.  The fabric store had the cutest little gingham print that I fell in love with.

 I've also decided that I'm going to make a cute little furry case for my phone using this tutorial.

My camera is a bit bigger than hers, but my phone is about the same size, so it's perfect.  The fur fabric I bought is so super soft, and I got a white suede to line it.  I'm super excited to start them tomorrow!

New items!

My mum and I worked inventory Wednesday and Thursday, so today we went to pick up her money, because she was casual labor.  To get to my store, we have to pass Nordstrom Rack and on the way back to the car, she asked if I wanted to go in!  Of course I said yes, I really wish she didn't ask!


I ended up buying a few things, but I did get paid today, so it's OK!

It's actually really good that we went in, because I've been needing new earrings.  The ones that I bought previously from H&M, I wore them so much, I wore them out and they broke.  So I needed new ones!  When I tried to put these ones I had to re-pierce it through the back.

I got these super cute ones.  You can't really see in the picture, but they've got purple gems.

I looooove ribbons, so these earrings from Juicy Couture were perfect.  I really wanted these cute Betsey Johnson ones, but mum told me they were ugly and I had to be kidding!  They were gold anyway, and I'm not a huge fan of gold jewelry, so it was for the best!  The backs of these earrings are also little crowns.  Ribbons and crowns, my favorite!

New shelves!

I'm so excited!  We're going to put cute little shelves onto my wall above my sewing table! :3

Now I just need to go find cute little things to make to display on them!

Projects

So not everything that I do on here is going to come from DIY Fashion Diva.  After looking through the archives, there aren't that many projects that I'm actually interested in doing.  I plan to do a couple of projects from there, but a lot of them are going to come from elsewhere.

I have a whole list in my bookmarks folder that is all crafting things.  I'm going to make my way down the list.  That's my plan, and I'm going to do it.

Eventually, I want to be able to make cute things really well, and be able to sell them, so I can make a little extra money

I also want to bake a little as well.  There is a list of baked goods on CakeSpy that i want to go through and pick sweets to make.  I'm not overly fond of super sweet things, but I want to make cute things!  I also want to make macarons :3.  Brightly colored and tasty sweets.  I think it will be fun.

Blog Idea

I think I know what I'm going to do now!

There's this blog DIY Fashion Diva.  I think I will work my way through the various crafts that she has, starting at the beginning.  And if not all of them, at least the ones that catch my eye.  Not only will it give me something to do, but it will give me something to fill this blog with.

I've noticed that being on Tumblr a lot of the time has been making me feel a bit depressed.  I can't honestly say I know why.  Maybe it's because I follow all these fashion blogs and I see all these amazing coordinates, that I know I can't do and wish I can.  I mean I'm sure that the people who do them it comes so easy and I try, but sometimes I think I try too hard!  It doesn't help too that the majority of the girls, like 9/10 of the girls in the pictures are amazingly gorgeous and I wish that I could look like them!

We'll see!  Enough about that.  That's what I'm going to do.  Now that I've decided it, I actually need to do it!  I have a day off Friday.  Mum wants to go see a piece of furniture in West Palm, but i get paid Friday.  So after that I can go to the fabric store and pick out a fabric so I can start on a project.

I'm back

I'm going to start using this again, mostly because for wordpress, you have to PAY to use your own custom theme. How messed up is that? Anyway, I want to be able to customize things and make it my own, so that's why I came back here. :]

I didn't really know what I wanted to do either, but I just wanted to do a blog so that I'd honestly have something to do in my spare time.  I'm not sure if it will make for an interesting blog though!  I don't really know what to put in it!  All I really do is go to work at a retail store in the mall, and aside from that, that's about it.  I used to spend some time designing and sewing, but I don't think I'm all that good at it.  I like fashion and all, but there are definitely people out there who are way way better at it than I am.  Maybe I should keep at it, and use my blog posts for that, but I'm not sure at the moment.  I'm also not super glammy or anything like that, so I can't really do anything with makeup.  My life isn't all that interesting either, so we'll see.  Maybe I can do some design things and progress posts and tutorials, but we'll see!  


Hopefully I figure something out, soon! 

Restarting and new things!

So I got a new tattoo yesterday! I've been wanting it for a while, but I never had the money and then I went out to California, and REALLY didn't have the money!
