[REVIEW] Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in No. 21

Hello new readers! Lovely to see you!

I'd always been hesitant to wear any sort of face makeup. When I was younger, I would watch my mum apply foundation, and not only did I not understand how to match my skin tone, but it always looked so thick. It looked like putting paint on your face. Before trying BB Cream, I had started using foundation, and perhaps I was using the wrong one, but it did feel thick and uncomfortable. Not only that, but it dried out my skin, even if I used moisturiser first. So I began the search for something better and came across BB Cream. I did a lot of research to find the right product for me, and now that I've found it, I'm never going back to anything else! I've even gotten my mum into using it. She loves it and uses it every day.

Blemish Balm, also called BB Cream, is known to have been formulated as an after-treatment cream to help patients who have gone through laser skin surgery to soothe and regenerate the skin.

The M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural-looking coverage with the soothing, moisturising properties of a cream. It is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a makeup base or foundation.

Whitening + Anti-Wrinkle + UV Protection (SPF 42 PA+++)

It's a thin formula so it feels light, but it's not watery. In my opinion it's the perfect consistency, and the colour is natural. It blends amazingly. The coverage is light and doesn't feel sticky on the skin. Which is a must here, because just walking outside the moisture in the air immediately clings to your skin!

Just wearing the BB Cream. I really like how it adds moisture, but doesn't make my skin look oily. It just looks natural.

Summary:
Texture
Thin and smooth. Not watery and not sticky. It goes on smoothly and doesn't just sit on the skin in a thick layer.

Coverage
Very light coverage, but consistent. It doesn't cover every imperfection completely, but it does even and lighten blemishes making them not as noticeable.

Scent forgot to add this!
There is a very light scent, but it's not overpowering. Fragrance is listed closer to the bottom of the ingredients list, so there isn't very much fragrance in the formula. The scent goes away after application.

Benefits
It has SPF 42 PA+++ and it moisturises your skin. It also has anti-wrinkle properties, just like other BB Creams.

Overall
For this cream I give it an 8/10. I would like it even more if it had a little bit more coverage, but I think in that case I would sacrifice texture, and it's perfect the way it is.

I can't compare this BB Cream to other creams. I've never actually used any others. There was one I started to try, I believe it is called Skinny Fit. It was so sticky and thick, I only got it on one cheek before I had to wipe it off. It felt like I was starting to put a mask on my face.

I have some samples for other BB Creams, so I'll give them a try. I've got an Etude House sample that I'm dying to try!

Do you use BB Cream? What kind do you use? My skin is sensitive and temperamental sometimes, so I think I will always come back to Missha, but I would love to try some others! Especially those recommended by readers and fellow bloggers! After all, it's better than just randomly picking something. Recommend me some?

  1. I love the Pure BB Mineral from Maybelline, it's very liquid, blends quite nice and doesn't feel heavy at all at your skin. I wanted to stock some BB creams before I am going home. I always thought about getting this BB cream because they even have it at my local supermarket... only the price let me not buy it, I really don't know if it's worth the price =_="

I honestly prefer "normal" make-up though since I can't really see a difference and I need a lot coverage for my uneven skin, I personally find most BB creams really poor in real coverage :/

  2. We don't have the Pure BB Mineral, yet (maybe soon? :D) so I'll look for it online, I remember reading your review on it! Right now for Maybelline, we have "Dream Fresh BB Cream". I'm kind of interested in trying it, but from initial reviews on the drugstore website, the shades are very basic and to match you might have to mix! (It's also very popular and sold out at all the drugstores near me!)

I think BB Creams are supposed to be more of a tinted moisturiser, so that's why the coverage isn't the best? That's all I can really equate it to. I like using them though because you don't need to match exactly (or at least I haven't) and generally one shade will fit a range of similar shades (that's how it was for the Missha at least) so I feel more comfortable because I don't know how to match my skin tone!

  3. I used the perfect cover bb cream from Missha for the longest time and I'm just now switching over to other brands. The hot pink one from Skin79 is also great and is on par with the Perfect cover one, I prefer the Skin79 now because of it's scent :)

  4. It seems like a lot of people have been using Skin79 lately! I was looking at the four pack that has the small bottles of four different types of Skin79, just to see which one fits! Right now I feel like I want to try all the BB Cream haha
