Inspo Post~

Where did I go?! I totally disappeared.  I haven't read any blogs or commented or anything!  School's started and it's set me way behind on everything.  I said I'd never take another literature course, but here I am taking two!  Roman Literature and Russian Literature!  Oh I feel like I'm in way over my head.  I'm also trying to get some school applications finished.  Apparently I write too american.  How do you even write too american?! What does that even mean?!  I'm working on trying to fix that.

Anyway, just a bit of inspiration for this month.  A couple of these images are floating around on tumblr, they're not mine.  I have them on my phone, and they go everywhere with me!  Consulted often for shopping.  It's not much, but I'm slowly building it up.  It's all over the place, too!  I'm feeling big on spikes, studs, chains, and leather.  I've started studding and spiking a denim vest, when it's cooler weather, my outfit revolves around my leather jacket. I've been mixing it with a thin oversized scarf, and I'm always on the lookout for longer oversized shirts, and I've been wearing leggings with pretty much everything!

But there are some days when I like to be a bit more girly, softer neutrals and dresses and so much the opposite of the leather, studs and spikes!

I've also started alternating between a more neutral, natural look, and a heavier black look with my makeup.  Depends on how I feel that day!  I recently bought a bunch of nail varnish, as well, so a lot of varnish design ideas have been making their way onto my phone.

Customized Spiked Heels

There are a ton of tutorials on youtube for spiking heels, and I wanted to give it a try myself.  I've always wanted spiked heels, but they usually run so expensive!  I bought my spikes from studsandspikes in a batch with a bunch of other studs.  I hunted these shoes down at Target for around $30.  They were so hard to find!  I guess a solid black pump is really in demand!

I have other plain black pumps, leather and suede, but I didn't want to accidentally ruin them, so I bought a cheaper pair!  Turns out I didn't have to worry, but plain black leather and suede are always needed, so it's better that I bought a new pair!  They're so comfortable, and they look so cool and edgy.

You can see the screws from the spikes in the heel of the shoe.  They are screwed tight enough that you can't even feel them.  I was a bit worried about it at first, but I've been wearing them about to break in the heels and I can't even feel them!  If I do start to, I'll probably just buy a heel insert or put a soft cloth over them to buffer it.

I want to wear them everywhere and never take them off!  I love how they look.  It took a lot of time and patience, and my fingers hurt from the screws, but it's so worth it. I can't wait to wear them everywhere! I might even wear them to school one day, just because!

Happy New Year! I resolve to...

It's been way too long since I've updated!
Last year, I met some of my goals that I set for my New Year's resolutions.  I got a car, an apartment, and started school.  My plans changed a bit, so I didn't go to Korea or Japan.  This year, I want to go with some more realistic things.

In the new year I want to:

1. Eat healthier and Exercise for 30 minutes every day.
Of course, eating healthy is super important! I have very bad habits when it comes to eating, so I would like to eat more fruits and especially vegetables (hate vegetables!).  Healthy eating and exercise is super important, and I'd really like to take more time to put it into my schedule.

2. Accepted into UK universities
I'm applying to transfer to a few UK universities.  It'd be such a great opportunity, and schools in the UK have higher quality education than most schools in the US.  Especially my school.  I'm applying for schools in England as well as Wales, so we'll see what happens!  Even getting accepted will be an achievement.  So that's a goal!  It's my big, ultimate goal for the year.

3. Get a job
I think that this might be the first one I achieve!  I'm a full-time student right now, and my schedule isn't always open enough to hold a job.  Fortunately my schedule is open enough this semester to hold a job!  i'm actually kind of excited about it.  Staying away from malls though~  I'd like to work as a bartender (or barback!) or a barista!

4. Be confident and be more open with others
This one goes hand in hand with confidence.  I've been way too shy to approach people on my own, and as a result, I really haven't met anyone up at school!  I want to change that.  For my major, I'm joining a couple of clubs, so I'm going to start there.

5. Blog
Pretty self-explanatory, yeah?  I've noticed I'll blog a bit in one month, then almost nothing another.  I want to try to figure out a schedule that I can blog and balance school and work.  I want to try and blog once a week, or once every two weeks!

6. Study
I want to keep my grades up, and my GPA up.  So that I'll get accepted into the universities I'm applying for.  I'm a horrible procrastinator (even blogging!  So many posts in drafts that need to be finished), and I always put my studying off until the last minute.  I think if I put in the effort, I'd definitely do a lot better than I am (not that I'm doing bad).

I think these should be a bit more manageable than what I had last year.  How about you?  What are your resolutions?
(Sorry for the all text post!)

Updates, Christmas, Gets~

So of course it's been absolutely forever since I've updated.  I can't believe a whole month has actually gone by!

Not all of this is from Christmas, but things that I've bought over time.

My sister bought me more Marc Jacob's Daisy for Christmas and my step mother got me Spin, which is a cheaper alternative to Kate Spade's Twirl (smells like grapefruit!).  I bought this cute beret at H&M when I was picking up some Christmas presents my mum asked me to pick up. (They were for me! A tote and a pair of boots.  Maybe I'll put those in the next post.  Super cute~)

I bought this ring at H&M to accessorize a LBD I was wearing to waitress a party.  I needed more accessories because unfortunately I didn't have a silver detailed belt to wear with the dress!  I picked up these three nail polishes at Target~ They're so nice.
Left to Right: Make U Smile, Love Your Life (Heart glitter!), Snow-man of My Dreams

E.L.F mascaras that were in my stocking!  I've never used E.L.F before, but I love love love it so much!  It's currently the best mascara I've ever used!

Also got this Union Jack iPhone case, as well as an England and Wales guidebook.  Which will be super useful when I achieve one of my resolutions! (Which will be in a later post!)  I mostly got money for Christmas, to put into my savings for my future adventures in the UK.

Christmas Eve was the best.  There was a lot of food and fun and people!  We had almost as many desserts as food, and we were baking and cooking all day.  It was so nice.  Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures (none at all really!) during the night.

How was your christmas, or if you don't celebrate Christmas, did you enjoy your holidays?  Did you enjoy time with your family?  Did you get what you were hoping for?

[REVIEW] Studsandspikes.com-various spikes and studs!

(banner not mine!)

So there's this amazing website called Studs and Spikes.  They have just about everything it seems!  A bunch of different styles of spikes and studs, as well as patches, badges, belts, wristbands and even kits to get you started!  Ohhhh, I love it so much.  I'm so in love, I've already ordered twice!

So first, the shop. Studs and Spikes.  It's so well organized, and they have options for buying in bulk, as well as buying in smaller sizes.  There's a huge wealth of information, and they really know about their product.  I was super confident buying from them.  Their products have so many good reviews on both quality and shipping.  I couldn't be happier. They also accept paypal!  Made it all so much easier to buy.  I've recommended them to my friends, and I will keep buying from them.

Onto the product:

Here I have the:
Size 13 Silver Cone Spike
1" Silver Cone Spike
1" Thin Tree Spike
and the Standard English77 Silver Studs

I've been using the tree spikes to stud a phone case for my friend for Christmas (even though it's passed Christmas!).

It's coming along! Slowly but surely~  I just bought more spikes because I ran out!

I'm especially excited about the English77 studs.  They're to give a punk look circa '77.  Oh man, it's going to be great.  I found a Betsey Johnson denim jacket at a thrift store, and I want to pull off the sleeves to make it a vest and stud and spike and patch it!  I plan to do the same to another jacket for the same friend I'm doing the case for for her birthday!  We both have similar tastes, so I'm sure she'll love it.  I love girly looks, but I do love punk rock at the same time!
